DESCRIPTION
RxLink Liver Detox Phase I & II provides a blend of nutrients
documented to provide biochemical support for the
liver to process xenobiotics, heavy metals, hormones,
neurotransmitters and other molecules the body needs to
eliminate to maintain a homeodynamic balance. Liver Detox
Phase I & II also supplies nutritional precursors and cofactors
essential in phase I and phase II detoxification. These
nutrients include antioxidants, conjugating agents, glutathione
precursors, sulfhydryl and methyl donors, vitamin and mineral
cofactors.
FUNCTIONS
Life is dependent upon the liver’s function as the primary
defense against toxins and chemicals that enter from the
bloodstream. The liver is challenged to serve as the principal
organ of detoxification 24 hours a day. If the liver ceases to
function or becomes impaired, an individual will become
quite ill. Our environment is becoming much more toxic. This
increased toxicity can bring about a serious liver condition
known as non-alcoholic fatal liver disease (NAFLD). NAFLD
can progress to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The end
progression is liver failure and death.
The liver is a remarkably resilient organ. But its ability to
regenerate becomes vulnerable with increasing age and
accumulated or excessive exposure to alcohol, aflatoxin,
medications, infective agents, allergens, and other potentially
harmful substances. Hepatic damage ranging from mild
asymptomatic inflammation to progressive fibrosis or cirrhosis
can impair vital metabolic functions of protein synthesis,
nutrient distribution, glucose storage, bile production, and
clearance of metabolic waste products, hormones, drugs,
and toxins. Nutrients that protect hepatocytes can be rapidly
depleted when the liver is under stress, making it even more
susceptible to damage. Liver Detox Phase I & II is designed to
enhance hepatic function by providing antioxidant protection
and to support liver detoxification processes and enzymatic
pathways.
The liver is equipped with a two-phase enzymatic, toxin
neutralization process, known as Phase I and Phase II. These
phases rely on numerous nutrients to support detoxification
activities and protect against excessive free radical generation
that might otherwise induce tissue damage:
